We are a Wisconsin family of 5:  Mark and Jen, with children Nick, Catie and Ben.  Nick is 18, Catie is 11 and Ben is 10.  We originally chose to use the Disney movie The Princess and The Frog characters as our “names” to maintain our identity; but as we have since “revealed” ourselves, all references to the movie character names have been removed.

We first visited Walt Disney World as a family in May 2006, but the dream to relocate to Florida didn’t surface until Fall of 2007, as a possible future goal.  As we talked about it, it became more of a possibility, and in January of 2008, we made it a definite, but far off goal.  Last fall (2009) we made the leap to say definitely that we’re going to move to Florida in the near future.  We finally achieved our Dream and arrived in Florida in July, 2011.

There are three main reasons why we are uprooting our family.  First and foremost, it is the fact that we want to live in a warmer climate.  Wisconsin winters are absolutely brutal.  Jen has grown up asking the question “why do we live here?” and it comes down to the fact that in generations past no one has wanted to take the effort to move.    Second, we absolutely love Walt Disney World and want to be able to experience that Disney magic more than once a week every couple of years.  Third, Jen is pursuing a degree in elementary education, and feels called to be teaching in Florida.
